Patient story: 5 year old girl sees mom for the first time in the eye doctor's office

Here is a video of Dr. M.K. Randahwa telling the story of a five-year old girl who saw her mother's face for the first time in our Vancouver developmental optometry clinic.  Her parents did not even know she was legally blind. While the story is very touching, it is also quite disturbing.  This is not supposed to happen.  Untreated vision problems  in children can be very damaging. Read more.
